We’ve teamed up with Sealand Gear, renowned for their commitment to sustainable, high-quality South African fashion, to create a truly exceptional tote bag. This limited-edition piece not only aligns with our vida e mundo ethos but also showcases the beauty and durability of sustainable materials.
Crafted in Cape Town using hand-dyed hemp fabric infused with vida e caffè’s spent coffee grounds, these bags offer a unique blend of style and eco-consciousness. The earthy mocha hue adds a touch of natural elegance, while the sturdy hemp material ensures long-lasting durability.
Each bag features a distinctive inner pocket made from upcycled poly-twill banners, previously used as in-store marketing collateral. This innovative use of waste material not only reduces environmental impact but also adds a touch of character to each piece. A personalized badge signifies its creator, highlighting the craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into its production.
The production of this limited-edition tote bag has a significant positive impact on the environment. Approximately 900kg of spent coffee grounds were reused, diverting waste from landfills. Additionally, 115m2 of waste banners were upcycled, saving them from contributing to the growing pile of discarded materials.
Our popular medium-dark roast second blend, Obrigado XX, is now available in capsules. The full body and darker roast of this blend give the extraction from these capsules excellent flavour and strength.
All elements of these capsules (pod + lid) are certified home compostable and will decompose within 12 weeks in an industrial composting facility, or 24 weeks in a home compost heap.
Following a year of testing, these capsules give good consistent flow rate while delivering excellent flavourful espresso.

Our cup and lid are both made of 100% plant based material. They are recyclable, compostable & biodegradable.
We use compostable & biodegradable straws in stores. Select stores also have branded bamboo reusable straws available for purchase.
We sell branded bamboo reusable mugs in stores. We also offer a R2 discount on your caffè when you bring (any) reusable mug to store.

Select stores donate their surplus food to various charities through our partnerships with SA Harvest and FoodForward South Africa.
